  • Use a wired Ethernet backhaul: This is the single best way to eliminate mesh latency. By connecting your satellite nodes to the main router using Ethernet cables, you bypass the wireless bottleneck entirely.
  • Optimize your node placement: Keep your satellites no more than two rooms or thirty feet apart. Placing them too far away forces them to communicate over a weak wireless link, which immediately tanks your performance.
  • Enable Bridge or AP Mode: If you are using an ISP-provided modem-router combo, configure your mesh system to run in Access Point mode to prevent double NAT conflicts.
  • Hardwire your critical devices: For gaming consoles and work PCs, nothing beats a direct Ethernet cable. If that is not possible, try to connect directly to the main router node rather than a distant satellite.
